The GenY Success Show (Episode 4): Josh Bauerle – Benefits Of Doing Free Work, The Financial Ins & Outs Of Business
Josh, like many other millennials, has had a lot of second thoughts on what he wanted to do in his career. He grew up in a family of entrepreneurs, but wanted to take a different route and work in law enforcement. After realizing the field was nothing like the TV shows, Josh quickly grew an interest in accounting.
He spent a few years freelancing and working with other CPA’s before starting his own accounting firm, CPA on Fire. Josh does the monthly income reports for John Lee Dumas at Entrepreneur on Fire and he does my taxes as well! This is a great episode if you have any questions about the financial aspects of starting a business, how business taxes work and/or how to save the most money in taxes.
The GenY Success Show (Episode 3): Eric Barstow – Starting Niche-Based Businesses, Hiring Virtual Assistants, Bootstrapping
In episode #3 of The GenY Success Show, we have a very special guest. Eric Barstow currently owns and operates 3 different businesses. He’s taken a very unique approach to a simple industry: house painting. He started his entrepreneurial career by starting his own house painting company and then quickly branched out and started a company that teaches others how to start a house painting business through an online course. He then started a business that provides customer leads to house painting contractors.
He talks a lot about niche-based businesses, how to start one and how to test your idea to see if it’s a good one. He also talks about how he funded a few of his businesses for just a few hundred bucks. Eric’s a great guy and offers a ton of insight on business and creating a lifestyle for yourself.
The GenY Success Show (Episode 2): DeAndre Robinson – From Division 1 Athlete To Entrepreneur, Mini-Retirements, Starting A Side Business
In episode #2 of The GenY Success Show, I feature an ex-Division 1 athlete from UCLA. DeAndre Robinson played on the UCLA basketball team from 2004-2008. In high school, DeAndre was one of the top rated players on the West Coast. In this episode, he talks a lot about how his basketball career has affected his career success. He also gives really great insight on what it takes to succeed after life as a college athlete. Many ex-Division 1 athletes don’t build the proper skills and connections to succeed after they graduate. Since they aren’t good enough to make it to the professional level, many of them end up working low-level jobs. DeAndre talks about how to overcome that challenge.
The GenY Success Show (Episode 1): Jeff Gunhus – Successful Entrepreneur, Bestselling Author, What Makes A Successful Millennial
In the first episode of The GenY Success Show, I brought on Jeff Gunhus. I’ve known Jeff for about 7 years now. He’s a partner at National Services Group, the parent company for College Works Painting and Empireworks Reconstruction & Painting. He works primarily with College Works Painting, which hires over 3,000 college students every year and gives them the opportunity to run their own businesses in the spring and summer while attending school.
Jeff is also a published author and has written 11 books, 3 of which have over 100 reviews on Amazon. Jeff is an expert on recruiting, training and coaching young adults and he gives a ton of insight on this episode about what makes a successful Millennial. He also talks about “top down” job hunting, a technique he’s used to get tons of job offers right out of college.
